In short

A clipping campaign pays creators to cut your long-form content into short clips and post them on TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels or X. On SaTT it is a new template of the link-first create flow: 100% of the budget is paid per 1,000 views, with a cap per clip, so you pay only for clips people actually watch.

Why do brands and creators use clipping?

A podcast episode, a stream or a webinar contains many short moments that could reach new audiences, but cutting and posting dozens of clips takes time.

Clippers do this work, but paying them a flat fee per clip rewards quantity rather than reach.

How does SaTT run a clipping campaign?

When your goal mentions clips, the AI picks the clipping template. The draft contains:

  • A performance pool paid per 1,000 views (CPM) with a maximum per clip.
  • Short-video networks only: TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and X.
  • Clip rules in the brief: a minimum of views before a clip earns (default 1,000), a clip length (default 15 to 90 seconds), up to 3 required hashtags and a credit line for the caption.
SettingExample
Budget$1,000 in dollars → $850 for clippers after the 15% fee
Price per 1,000 views$1.00 (your choice)
Cap per clip$50 → a clip stops earning at 50,000 views
Posts per creatorUp to 10, so active clippers can post many clips
Duration21 to 30 days

Likes and shares are not priced in this template: only views count.

How do you start?

  1. 1. Paste the source

On Create, paste the link of the long video or podcast and write a goal like “clip our podcast into shorts”.

  2. 2. Check the clip rules

Review the minimum views, clip length, required hashtags and credit line in the brief.

  3. 3. Set the price and cap

Choose the price per 1,000 views and the maximum per clip, then launch.

  4. 4. Follow the clips

Watch new clips arrive in your Dashboard and reject those that break the brief or are flagged.

Step-by-step details: Run a clipping campaign.

What should you watch out for?

  • No cap per clip: one viral clip could use a large part of the budget.
  • Missing credit line: ask for the source and channel name in every caption.
  • Rights: only offer content you own or are allowed to have clipped.
  • Re-uploads of the same clip by several people are flagged as duplicate content.

Key takeaways

  • Clipping pays per 1,000 views with a cap per clip, so you pay for reach.
  • Networks: TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and X.
  • Clip rules live in the brief; not all are enforced automatically yet.
  • Clipping is a new template: review clips during the first campaigns.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get the clipping template?

Describe clipping in the goal field of the link-first create flow, for example “clip our stream into shorts”. The AI then proposes the clipping template.

Are clips on Instagram measured?

Yes for Reels, which have a view count. Instagram photos have no views. During the alpha, Instagram and TikTok are read through a data provider with a limited daily quota.

Can a clipper post many clips?

Yes, up to the “posts per creator” limit you set (1 to 10). Each clip is measured and capped separately.
