How gigs & tasks work

A gig is a direct, fixed-price deal between an advertiser and a creator. The price is escrowed in a smart contract the moment work begins, and only moves when the work is approved — or, if there’s a disagreement, when a neutral arbiter decides. No platform holds your money.

Two ways to start

Creator-led

Creator offer

A creator publishes a priced service (“YouTube review — 1,200 SaTT”). An advertiser hires it in one click, which escrows the price for that creator. Best when you know exactly who you want.

Advertiser-led

Advertiser task

An advertiser posts a task with a budget and a brief. The first creator to accept gets the job. Best when you want the work done and are open to who does it.

The lifecycle of a gig

Every step is enforced by the smart contract — escrow in, approval out.

Hire or post — funds escrowed

BuyercreateGig()

The advertiser hires a creator (offer) or posts a task. The full price is pulled into the escrow contract.

2.

Accept

CreatoracceptGig()

The creator commits to the work. For an open task, the first to accept gets it; a named hire is reserved for that creator.

3.

Deliver

Creatordeliver()

The creator submits a link to the finished work, which starts the buyer’s review window.

Then it settles one of three ways

Approved

The buyer approves and the payment releases to the creator, net of the protocol fee.

Buyerapprove()

Auto-released

If the buyer goes silent, the creator self-releases once the 3-day review window passes — pay can’t be stalled.

CreatorclaimAfterReview()

Disputed

The buyer can dispute within the review window; a neutral arbiter then pays the creator or refunds the buyer.

Why it’s safe

Escrow, not trust

The price is locked in the contract the moment work starts — the buyer can’t vanish, and no platform can touch it.

Creators can’t be stiffed

After delivery, a silent buyer can’t block payment: the creator self-releases once the review window ends.

Buyers are protected

If the work isn’t what was agreed, the buyer disputes within the window and an arbiter resolves it — refunds are in full.

Refundable when it’s fair

An unaccepted gig is refundable any time; one whose creator missed the deadline can be reclaimed.

One fee, on payout only

Gigs use the same protocol fee as AdPools — 5% when paid in SaTT (50% ecosystem · 50% burned), 15% in any other token (50% buy-back · 50% ecosystem). It’s taken only when the creator is paid; refunds are always in full.
