# How to connect and verify your X account

> Verify your X (Twitter) account on SaTT with the official X sign-in or a bio code, so your posts on X can be paid and matched to you.

## In short

Open [Account settings](https://satt.com/account) and press **Connect with X**: X asks you to authorise read access and SaTT links the account as a [verified account](https://satt.com/guides/glossary#verified-account). If the X sign-in is unavailable, put a one-time [bio code](https://satt.com/guides/glossary#bio-code) in your X bio and press check.

## Why verify your X account?

AdPools only pay posts from accounts SaTT has proven are yours. Once X is verified, every post link from that handle that you submit is attributed to your SaTT account and to no one else.

X post numbers (views, likes, reposts, replies, bookmarks) are measured through SaTT’s metrics provider. During the alpha this provider runs on a small daily quota, so X is badged “Limited” in some places.

## How do you connect X, step by step?

1. **Sign in** — Sign in at [Sign in](https://satt.com/login). Using **Continue with X** links and verifies that X account in the same step.
2. **Open the X card** — Go to [Account settings](https://satt.com/account) or step 2 of the [creator setup](https://satt.com/onboarding).
3. **Authorise SaTT on X** — Press **Connect with X** and approve the requested read permissions (`tweet.read`, `users.read`). Make sure you are logged in to the right X account first.
4. **Confirm** — The card now reads **Linked @handle** with “Verified (connected)”.

## How do you verify X with a bio code instead?

Choose “Can’t connect? Verify with a bio code” on the X card, type your @username and press **Get my code**. Then:

1. On X, open Edit profile → Bio and paste the code, for example `SATT-7K2Q9`.
2. Save the profile.
3. Back on SaTT press **I’ve added it — check** within 15 minutes.

You can delete the code from your bio once the account shows “Verified (profile code)”.

## Are X actions in Quests checked automatically?

Not today. Automatic checks of follows, likes and reposts on X need an X API access that is not enabled in production yet, so those [Quest](https://satt.com/guides/glossary#quest) actions are created as “honor” actions: self-declared, worth fewer tickets and audited if you win. Posts you create for a Quest are still checked by their link and your verified handle.

> **Tip:** The app always shows the real verification level next to each action, so you know before you start what will be checked.

## Key takeaways

- Connect X from /account with the official X sign-in, read-only.
- Signing in with X verifies the account in one step.
- The bio code goes in Edit profile → Bio and is valid 15 minutes.
- X Quest follows, likes and reposts are honor-based for now.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can SaTT tweet from my account?

No. SaTT requests read permissions only (`tweet.read`, `users.read`) and never posts, likes or follows on your behalf.

### Why is X marked “Limited”?

X post metrics come from a metrics provider whose alpha plan has a small daily quota. Measurements still work but may be slower; the badge disappears when the quota grows.

### I changed my X username. Do I need to reconnect?

Reconnect from [Account settings](https://satt.com/account) so the linked handle matches your new username, otherwise new post links may not match your account.
