## In short

[Clipping](https://satt.com/guides/glossary#clipping) is a campaign template where creators cut your long-form content (podcast, stream, video) into short clips and post them on TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels or X. The whole budget goes to a performance pool paid per 1,000 views, with a cap per clip, so you pay only for clips people watch.

## What is clipping on SaTT?

Clipping turns one long piece of content into many short ones, made by many “clippers”. It is a template of the link-first create flow, not a separate pool kind: under the hood it is a [performance](https://satt.com/guides/glossary#pay-per-performance) AdPool that puts 100% of the budget on views.

It is a new template, available during the [public alpha](https://satt.com/guides/glossary#alpha).

## How does a clipping campaign work?

1. On [Create](https://satt.com/create), paste the link of your source (episode, video, stream) and write a goal such as “clip our podcast into shorts”.
2. The draft proposes the clipping template: networks TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and X where measurable, a price per 1,000 views and a cap per clip.
3. The brief lists the clipping rules: minimum views before a clip earns (default 1,000), clip length (default 15 to 90 seconds), up to 3 required hashtags and a credit line to put in each caption.
4. Clippers post and submit their clip links; each clip earns per 1,000 views until its cap or the budget is reached.

## What are the limits?

- Clips are paid on views only; likes and shares are not priced in this template.
- Rules such as minimum views and clip length are shown in the brief; they are not all enforced automatically, so review submissions in your [Dashboard](https://satt.com/dashboard).
- Instagram counts views only for videos and Reels; X, TikTok and Instagram metrics are “Limited” during the alpha.
- The usual anti-fraud timing applies: 48-hour [maturation](https://satt.com/guides/glossary#maturation) and 20% holdback until the final check.

Duplicate detection flags a caption almost identical to another clip, so ask clippers to write their own captions.

## When should you use clipping?

Use it when you already have long content and want reach on short-form feeds: podcasts, streams, interviews, conference talks, game trailers. Use [fixed price per post](https://satt.com/guides/features/pay-per-post-tiers) instead if you want a guaranteed number of posts.

## Key takeaways

- Clipping = a performance AdPool with 100% of the budget on views.
- Clips are paid per 1,000 views, capped per clip.
- Targets TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and X.
- Brief rules (min views, length, hashtags, credit) are shown, not all enforced.

## Frequently asked questions

### Who owns the clips?

Clippers publish on their own accounts. Agree on rights in your brief; SaTT does not transfer content ownership.

### Can I pay a fixed price per clip instead?

Yes, by using a fixed reward per post AdPool, but then you pay for clips regardless of their views.

### Do clips have to credit my channel?

The draft adds a credit line to the brief. Make it a clear rule and reject clips that ignore it during review.
